The NWRPI is currently working with Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, WWT, RSPB, Natural England and the BSBI to establish a network of sites acting as both donors and receptors for the priority species of this initiative. It's all about Sphagnum!

After over two centuries of habitat degradation, Greater Manchester's raised bogs have come to a turning point. Years of restoration management by Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Natural England and others have meant that these sites are beginning to recover and become suitable for long-extinct plants once again.
